In match 31 of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021, Pakistan defeated Namibia by 45 runs, this, becoming the second team after England to officially qualify for the Semi Finals of the ICC T20 World Cup, 2021. The Victory over Namibia is the fourth consecutive victory of Pakistan in this edition of T20 World Cup. Although the team is now eligible for the semi finals, but the spots are still not fixed, as Pakistan is still left with a match against Scotland. There last match would confirm that which Semi Finals they will be playing.
The Competition in Group 2 is not as cut throat as that in Group 1. One team is already qualified for the Semis from Group 1(Pakistan). New Zealand is likely to become the second team after Pakistan to qualify for the Semi Finals form Group 2, as India had already lost its 2 matches with big margins, thus, there chance of qualifying, relies on the performance of New Zealand.
Today’s match between Pakistan and Namibia was pretty one sided in favor of Pakistan as expected. However, Namibia did put a good fight and showed their batting proficiency infront on the fierce Pakistani bowling attack. But their batting wasn’t good enough to chase the total of 190 set by Pakistan. In this match, Pakistan tested it’s defending ability, thereby, electing to bat first after winning the toss. We must say that, Pakistan’s defending ability is not that good, as expected. The Pakistani bowlers only managed to strike five Namibian wickets in the second inning. Their Strike bowler, S s Afridi went wicketless and costly in this match, thereby reducing Pakistani bowling spirit for the upcoming matches.
