Team England is the favourite  to win the T20 World Cup this season. No other team is matching the standard of the team England, the way they have been playing. They have won all their 4 matches in a dominant fashion and proved themselves to be the superiors of all in this World Cup.

After today’s match, England have also broken a myth based on them that they only win matches by chasing. Contrary to that myth, England convincingly defeated Sri Lanka in today’s match by successfully defending their total. Joss Butler became the knight in the shinning armour for England in this match. His brilliant unbeaten ton (101), helped England build a strong total to defend in their first inning. The English batting struggled initially in the powerplay after losing their 3 key batsmen, J Roy, D Malan and J Bairstow within the powerplay. However, after the poweplay the 4th wicket partnership between Joss Butler and E Morgan completely changed the course of the match in England’s favour. A score which was once expected to reach 140, considering the poor condition of English batting in powerplay, reached a massive 163 courtesy of match winning partnership between Joss Butler (101) and E Morgan (40). Sri Lanka however, tried to fight back and at one point seemed winning the game, but the English bowlers came back strong in the death overs and completely turned the tides in the favour of England yet again. As a result, chasing a target of 165 runs, Sri Lanka crippled on a score of mere 137 runs in just 19 overs. The bowling highlight for England were Aadil Rashid, Chris Jordon and Moeen Ali.
