In match 37 of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021, India defeated Scotland by 8 wickets. This Victory provided a huge leap to India in terms of Net Run Rate. India now has its Net Run Rate better than that of New Zealand’s and Afghanistan’s. This victory also improved India’s position on the Group 2 points table, India now surpassed Afghanistan to acquire 3rd spot on the Group 2 of the points table.

India’s victory however, doesn’t provide guarantee of their qualification for the Semi Finals, as New Zealand still lost only one match and will be de facto qualify for the Semis if they win their one remaining match against Afghanistan.

India firstly decimated the Scottish batting lineup with their crisp and accurate bowling, then chased the given target in just 39 balls in their second innings. Scotland was bowled out for 84 runs in the first innings, M Shami 3/15(3) and R Jadeja 3/15(4), were the highlight reels of the Indian bowling. India chased down the 85 runs target in just 39 balls, with KL Rahul scoring a quick fire 50 of just 19 balls. As a result, India clinched the victory by 8 wickets.
